Severing Ties of Intimacy with Family and Friends for the sake of Spiritual Intimacy with God: The Holy Trinity…

Luke 14:25-27
New King James Version

Leaving All to Follow Christ

25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

Hence…

This Blog was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend of mine. She shared her concerns of a troubling and dysfunctional relationship with her mother and siblings and other relatives. The dysfunction is centered in part by her mother who has some mental disturbances: paranoia and bi-polar temperament coupled with a constant means to create havoc and divisiveness among her children. I know this behavior very well.

On a personal level I can relate to the dysfunctional behavior on the premise this temperament of bi-polar, paranoia and schizophrenia are behaviors which I experienced first-hand with my twin sister, who is now deceased.

During my intimate time with God: The Holy Trinity, I learned that sharing our life experiences, whether good or bad, enables us to connect and fellowship with others on a more intimate level especially if the subject matter is something that we have gone through.

As Christians, we are salt of the earth and light bearers. When we expose even our darkest life experiences we are stripping Satan and his agents from any power and/ or strongholds he has over us. If we choose to cover up, or hide, or lie, or deceive, or keep secrets and etcetera, then the devil will use this as a weapon against you, period.

More importantly, The Holy Trinity reminded me that God used this same method of communication with us by sharing His disciple’s intimate details. We can find evidence of this throughout the Bible: Old and New Testament Eras. These intimate details of God’s disciples serves as a model of what and what not to do. We can identify what behavior brings about a curse or a blessing.

The Bible, “God’s Words” is our lifeline, it can bring us to eternal life or eternal death. Our life as we live and know it today is temporary.

Severing ties with family and friends might sound harsh and ungodly; however, as individuals we must decide who our loyalty is with. As for me, I learned that the behavior and demeanor of some family and friends did not measure up to God-fearing behavior. Many of them are not spiritually matured, they are caught up on the horizontal plane: conformed to the things of this world, as for me, I live my life on the vertical plane: Intimacy with God: the Holy Trinity, my mind have been renewed, transformed, I am no longer conformed to the things of this world. My life belongs to God, I am a living sacrifice, gainfully employed to do the Will of our Heavenly Father to bring His Kingdom here on the earth, awaiting the 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ, His Kingdom will be the new Jerusalem.

Noteworthy…

I have concluded that my passion for Jesus Christ supersedes my passion for my family and friends. Understanding that only through Christ can I receive eternal life. With that said, I do love my family and friends and I pray for them every day, I just simply choose to love them from a distance and can offer them so much more through prayer than by having to fellowship with them through family gatherings that many times result in dysfunctional behavior and divisiveness.

Satan preys on those who are weak and lack intimacy with God. There are those who know “of God” and those who know God “Intimately”.

To know someone intimately, takes an investment of one’s time, daily, just as we do with our spouse, children, family and friends.

Simply reading the Word of God does not bring forth an Intimate relationship. True intimacy with God is when our Spirit is conjoined with the Holy Spirit and via the Holy Spirit we have access to God through Jesus Christ thus giving us access to the Holy of Holies. Another means of Jesus’ sacrifice is that the veil has been torn.

Study the Word of God, knowledge is power, applied knowledge is even greater power.

Romans 8:14
New King James Version

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

The Horizontal Plane, Identifies one who is led by the flesh

vs.

The Vertical Plane, identifies one who is led by the
Holy Spirit

… According to God’s Word as follows:

Galatians 5:19-26
New King James Version

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [a]adultery, [b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [d]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

John 3:5-6
New King James Version

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Romans 16:17
New King James Version

Avoid Divisive Persons

17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

2 Corinthians 6:14

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

1 Peter 2:1-25

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ...

Identifying The Spirit’s you are Intimate With and/ or Courting

It is imperative to understand that our behavior and demeanor can manifest either: unclean spirits (Satan’s Agents) or the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, once supernaturally baptized by Jesus Christ.

As for me, the manifestation of the Holy Spirit took some nurturing and cultivating, daily investment of spending time with God: The Holy Trinity. Be it through prayer, reading the Bible (God’s Word) and/or Praise and Worship.

  Ephesians 6:10-13 (NKJV)

The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Matthew 10:16-20
New King James Version

Persecutions Are Coming

16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless[a] as doves. 17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. 18 You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

Matthew 10:12-14
New King James Version

12 And when you go into a household, greet it. 13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

Mark 13:13
Amplified Bible

13 You will be hated by everyone because of [your association with] My name, but the one who [patiently perseveres empowered by the Holy Spirit and] endures to the end, he will be saved.

2 Corinthians 6:11-18
New King James Version

Be Holy

11 O Corinthians! [a]We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open. 12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections. 13 Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open.

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what [b]fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what [c]communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[d] are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

17 Therefore
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”
